Libergier’s solution was obviously inspired by the transepts of Reims Cathedral (before 1241), where the big roses are already inscribed within pointed arches; but here the whole does not, as yet, constitute a “window.” The spandrels above and below the roses are not, as yet, glazed, and no vertical connection exists between the roses and the windows beneath them.
